“Laughing at the Stars” treatment design

CONTEXT

‘Laughing at the Stars’ is a reality competition featuring nine celebrities from the worlds of tv, film, sports, music, social media and more, competing to see who can best make the transformation from star to stand-up.

CHALLENGE

When pitching a new concept for tv, the show needs to be branded enough to have a distinct identity and feel polished, but not so overly designed that prospective studio &/or network executives can’t imagine their own spin on it.

OBJECTIVE

Design a playful yet subtle treatment which showcases the fundamentals of the show and highlights the cast members who bring it to life.

APPROACH

Using a collage of portraits in front of multi-colored backgrounds to celebrate the endless possibilities the show could take while still in development, and leverage a consistent custom typeface to give every aspect a personality.
